Université de Lorraine

Jennifer Andruska completed her doctorate at the University of Cambridge in 2017.  Her thesis, Wise and Foolish Love in the Song of Songs, is published with Brill (2019) and looks at connections between the Song of Songs and wisdom literature, arguing that the Song of Songs has combined the ancient Near Eastern love song and advise literature genres to produce a wisdom literature about romantic love.  She is currently working as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Ancient Judaism and Early Christianity at the Université de Lorraine in Metz.

Her main areas of interest are the Song of Songs, wisdom literature, Ben Sira, textual plurality, intertextuality, ANE love songs, ambiguity in Hebrew narrative, cognitive linguistics and literary criticism.  She is currently involved in the new edition of the Hebrew manuscripts of Ben Sira with Jean-Sébastien Rey, Jan Joosten and Eric Reymond.
